As local weather change accelerates, cities are on the entrance strains, each in experiencing its impacts and in crafting options. Sheila Foster works to make sure city local weather adaptation methods will not be solely efficient however equitable. Her analysis focuses on environmental and local weather fairness, with an emphasis on co-creating options with frontline communities.
“Usually the individuals who stay in these communities have already been engaged on options,” says Foster, a professor on the Columbia Local weather Faculty. “What they want are instruments—authorized, coverage and institutional—to scale these options in partnership with authorities.”
